Study Journal

·         Date: September 29, 2008.

·         WE LEARN TO TEACH “BY STUDY AND ALSO BY FAITH,” PART 1.

·      Prayer and pondering the scriptures help prepare us to receive the influence of the Holy Ghost.

Ø  1 Nephi 11:1

The scripture taught me the importance to ask for the Lord’s help through my prayers and to take times to ponder everything that we receive or study. We need to ask God that is this true or not. By the Spirit, we will know that this is true or not. We need to rely ourselves to God and to be worthy to receive Holy Ghost companionship.

Ø  Alma 5:46.

I learned that fasting and praying will help us to know all things. The Holy Ghost will come to our heart and testify that all things about the gospel that doubt in our heart are true. By the Spirit of revelation, we will receive guidance to be better person or better missionaries.

·      We must seek to obtain the word.

Ø  Doctrine and Covenants 11:21

I learned about we need to study the word of God first before we teach people about it. After we desire study through praying and pondering, the Spirit will help us in our teachings. We will have the Spirit in our heart and the word of God in our mind. That combination will bring people to believe in our teachings and bring people unto Christ.

Ø  Doctrine and Covenants 42:14

The Lord warned me to have the Spirit with me in all time. I need to pray with humble heart and with faith to ask for the Spirit companionship. If we do not feel the Spirit, we shall not teach people. Teaching with the Spirit is more efficient than teaching with our own knowledge.
